The Festival 2024:
The Accomplishment of Many Years

We are celebrating 10 years of the UK International Audio Drama Festival this year.

The Festival takes place from 25 – 29 March 2024 and we look forward to welcoming producers and audience alike for an exciting and stimulating week of listening and discussion.

The co-chairs of the jury will be Marta Rebzda and Vesna Topalov.

2024 Awards…

1st – Populist Radio (Stefano Giannotti, Deutschlandfunk Culture) 
2nd – The Sister of Job (Marta Rebzda, Polish Radio Theatre) 
3rd – Dear Alter Ego (Ulrike Haage, Bavarian Broadcast)

And 
The Line (Raluca Grumǎzescu, Portable Theatre Timisoara 
 
2nd – Faxes in the Storm (Emily White/ Synchromesh)

This group were formed as part of the Synchromesh Programme by International Arts at the residency in Timisoara, summer 2023.

2024 Programme

Submissions for the festival are now closed for the 2024 festival. 

Awards will be made for full length work, short form work and for the work which receives the most votes from the audience.

Thank for all of your submissions, we will acknowledge everyone but please bear with us as we have had a huge response this year! Inevitably there were many great works that we could not shortlist. 

…being at the festival is like travelling elsewhere without having to undergo the hassle of airport security

The Speak Softly Shop

 A season of newly made shortform dramas from around the world. Created as a response to the pandemic, they are a powerful reminder of the versatility of audio drama as an art form. Covid 19 made us postpone the 2020 festival but it brought this extraordinary cycle of work.
